No confirmation on Dawood's custody

Mumbai, Aug 7 (UNI) There was uncertainty about reports that Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and his close associates Tiger Memon and Chhota Shakeel were now in custody of Pakistan's ISI, with a senior Intelligence agency official here neither denying non confirming the report.

When contacted in this regard, the official told UNI ''It is difficult to comment anything at this juncture as we are still trying to verify the authenticity of the media reports.'' The media reports had indicated that the trio was rounded up from a hide-out on the Pak-Afghan border last Thursday, and frisked away to a house on the outskirts of Quetta.

Another news report had claimed that Dawood, who is the master-mind behind the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai, had reportedly sustained injuries in his left leg in a scuffle with fellow gamblers at a hotel in Karachi.

'' We are also trying to verify this report'', the official added.
