Naxal killed in encounter in AP village
Kurnool, Aug 7: One maoist was killed and a constable of the elite Greyhounds injured during a firing between the Maoists and police at Bogada village near the Nallamala forest today.
District Superintendent of Police B Malla Reddy told sources that the police party, carrying out combing operations in the Nallamala forest spotted five to six naxals near the village. When the police asked them to surrender, the ultras opened fire. Police fired back killing one extremist.
In the gunfire, one police constable was also injured, he added.
The slain maoist was yet to be identified, he said adding two weapons, including a SLR and a rifle were recovered from the encounter spot.
