Mysore dasara festivities meeting on August nine

Bangalore, Aug 7 (UNI) Karnataka Kannada and Culture Minister H S Mahadevaprasad today said that the high level committee on the celebration of Dasara festival will meet on August nine.

He told reporters here today tht the committee headed by the Chief Minister would meet in the city and hold discussions on restricting the setting up of various committees and its members.

He said that the government this year plans to limit the number of committees to nine in connection with the celebration of the world famous fesitival at Mysore.

The Minister also said that the government has asked the people to celebrate the Independence Day celebrtaions along with the observation of 150th year of first Indepedence war, 60th year of Independence along with other programmes in connection with the freedom movement.

He said the Centre had sanctioned Rs five crore for development of tourist spots in Chamarajanagar district.

Mr Mahadevaprasad said that the government would spend atleast Rs two crore for the development of Shivanasamudra, where it has planned to hold a two-day Jalapatotsava from August 11.
