Indian Idol finalists feel depressed over weekly elimination
Lucknow, Aug 7 (UNI) The seven Indian Idol finalists admit to getting depressed on weekly elimination of one amongst them.
However, they also seemed to be enjoying 'Masti Ki Pathshala' in the ongoing contest.
''Although it is like attending a school of masti, but parting of a fellow contestant every Saturday is depressing,'' they said.
Indian Idol is a popular musical talent hunt programmes aired on Sony channel.
''We are just enjoying our stint in the programme and working round the clock to further hone our singing...rest we indulge in masti with our fellow mates,'' the contestants said in a news conference here yesterday.
They are here to perform in the Uttar Pradesh capital.
The contestants Manyang Chang, Emon Chatterjee, Deepali Shahi, Puja Chaterjee, Prashant Tamang, Amit Paul and Ankita Mishra said they really make a family together and hope this time a girl becomes the winner.
Ankita of Kanpur said Indian Idol gave her a platform to showcase her talent and she was grateful to god to bless her with a wild card entry in the show.
Chang, a dentist by profession and a native of Dhanbad, said the show had given him to fulfill his passion for singing.
Well versed in Urdu, he said the show had given him a big platform, although he was not related to music at all in the early years of his life.
Prashant Tamang, working with Kolkata Police, said ''I want to prove that policeman can also sing and change the attitude of the masses about the cops.
Deepali a contestant from Patna said it was full of work on the stage but off-stage it is complete masti. While the youngest Puja from Dhanbad said it is a complete family with the contestants and she described in detail about how they celebrated 'Friendship Day'.
Emon of Kolkata said he hopes the friendship between them continues for ever even after the end of the show, while Amit of Shillong made it clear he never thought of getting selected for the show.
The channel holding the contest, claimed the finalist will perform in four other cities in the country after Ahmedabad and Lucknow.
