Heat and humidity keep Kolkatans praying for rains

Kolkata, Aug 7 (UNI) Intermittant rainfall and extreme heat in the last 24 hours kept Kolkatans praying for more rains.

Met officials here informed that the maximum temperature was pegged at 31.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.7 degrees Celsius.

Rainfall in the past 24 hrs was recorded at 49.9 mm, Met office informed. Maximum relative humidity remained high at 95 per cent.

Officials predicted that the sky would remain partly cloudy with possibility of 1-2 spells of rainfall or thundershowers.
