Haryana plans projects involving Rs 8058 cr investment
Chandigarh, Aug 7 (UNI) The Haryana government has filed 459 Industrial Entrepreneur Memoranda with the Centre to set up large and medium projects in the state which would catalyse an investment of over Rs 8058 crore.
These projects would reinforce the economy of the state besides generating large scale employment opportunities, Industries and Commerce Minister Lachhman Dass Arora said today.
He said the industrial policy implemented by the state government had proved very successful in catalysing substantial investments in the state.
A total investment of Rs 28,000 crore had come to the state after the launch of the policy. Similarly, Foreign Direct Investment of Rs 5000 crore had been catalyzed.
At present, projects with investment of Rs 60,000 crore were under implementation, he added.
The Minister said the total export from Haryana had increased over Rs 25,000 crore.
He said Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation was acquiring 20,000 acres of land for development of new industrial estates or parks and substantial expansion of existing industrial estates.
Mr Arora said as many as 82 proposals had been received for setting up Special Economic Zones with an investment of over Rs.
2,00,000 crore and employment potential for more than 20 lakh persons.
Of the total proposals, 57 proposals had already been granted in principal or formal approval by the Central government.
He said that emphasis had been laid on the provision of best of the infrastructure, simplification of rules and procedures, efficient institutional mechanism and incentives to the industry especially in the backward areas of the state.
