Govt offices to be cent per cent CFL offices
Hisar, Aug 7 (UNI) All the government offices, including the Mini Secretariate, in Sirsa district are going to be cent per cent CFL offices, by the end of this week.
A spokesman of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) said here today that the campaign to replace all incandescent bulbs in government offices in the district had been started yesterday with a target to replace all power guzzaler yellow bulbs by the end of this week.
The campaign was started from the Mini Secretariate on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner V Umashankar.
He said that the government had already directed all the government offices to use energy efficient compact floarescent lamps by replacing incandescent bulbs in government offices and in the offices of government aided institutes.
The DHBVN had already made it mandatory for all commercial and industrial units, having a load of five Kilowatt or more to use of CFL.
"About 25 per cent of total power is being used for lighting in Haryana which rises to 40 per cent during peak load hours. By using CFL, the consumption can be reduced by about 70 per cent that works out to about 800 MW on an average and about 1400 MW during peak load hours," the spokesman said.
