Funds sanctioned for four new tourist destinations in J
Srinagar, Aug 7 (UNI) The centre has sanctioned funds for the development of four new tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman said.
He said the new destinations included Bungus in valley, border districts of Kargil, Panikar and Drass in Ladakh region.
The spokesman said the Union Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned 70 crore Rupees for 27 new projects in the country as Central assistance during the first four months of current financial year.
The Ministry proposes to continue supporting creation of world class infrastructure in the country during 11th Plan.
In consultation with the State Governments, the Ministry has identified several tourist circuits and destinations for integrated development.
During Xth Five Year Plan, the Ministry sanctioned 1160 projects amounting to Rs 2011.68 crores to various States and Union Territories, he said.
