Dy CM asks for addl road between Panchkula and Chandigarh

Chandigarh, Aug 7 (UNI) Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today directed the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to devise a plan for additional link road between Panchkula and Chandigarh so that traffic from Chandigarh to Panchkula could be eased.

Mr Chander Mohan have this direction while reviewing the developmental works of Panchkula district being executed by the District Administration with the officers of Panchkula here today.

He directed Deputy Commissioner Neerja Shekhar to chalk out a proposal for constructing a railway over bridge from sector 17 Panchkula to Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) workshop Industrial Area Chandigarh as it would help in easing the traffic from Panchkula to Chandigarh.

He also suggested them to prepare a plan of a bypass from sector 8 Panchkula to Kala Gram, Chandigarh so that the traffic could be diverted on this road during the peak hours.

Mr Chander Mohan said that Panchkula was emerging a satellite town and it was the duty of the Government to provide all basic amenities to the people.

He reminded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also promised at Panipat Rally that better infrastructure would be made available at Panchkula at par with the Union Territory Chandigarh.
