CBI registers DA case against senior India Post official

New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) A senior Postal Department official was today booked by the CBI for possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of his income to the tune of Rs 33.95 lakh.

Searches were conducted at the official and residential premises of the senior Superintendent of Post Office, during which Rs 75,000 in cash, documents pertaining to educational expenditure of his children worth about Rs 19 lakh, Insurance policies worth Rs 11 lakh, two plots at Wazirabad and Karawal Nagar, Delhi, benami investments in monthly income schemes and Kisan Vikas Patras to the tune of Rs 31 lakh and investment in PPF worth Rs three lakh, were recovered.
