22 accused given imprisonment on fodder scam
Ranchi, Aug 7 (UNI) The desiganted court of CBI today pronounced quantum of punishment to 22 accused in the multi-crore fodder scam awarding imprisonment from five to six years.
Ten Animal Husbandry department officials and eight suppliers were awarded six years of imprisonment besides fine of Rs 50,000.
Delivering the verdict, CBI designated judge J K N Tiwary also gave five years imprisonment to four another suppliers.
The verdict was regarding the Ranchi treasury from which more than Rs 4.5 crore had been siphoned out illegally from April, 1995 to January, 1996.
Altogether 31 were found guilty in this particular case of which quantum of punishemnt was given to six, including a woman, on July 31.
Two persons were acquitted by the court the same day.
Of the remaining the court pronounced punishment to one accused yesterday.
