Two-day 'Jalapata Utsava' from Aug 11

Mysore, Aug 6: A two-day 'Jalapata Utsava' (Festival of Waterfalls) will be held at Barachukki from August 11, Cooperation Minister G T Deve Gowda said.

Talking to newspersons at Kollegal, about 70 km from here yesterday, he said that the proposed Utsava would be a major attraction.

&34;It was also being contemplated to include Bharachukki falls under the tourism department,&34; he added.

&34;Over Rs 2 crores would be spent for the development of the Bharachukki falls at Shivanasamudra to provide better facilities, including accommodation, drinking water, well equipped shopping arcade and other amenities,&34; he added.
