Two arrested for duping people with fake interview

Mangalore, Aug 6 (UNI) A former Government Wenlock Nursing College Principal and his associate were arrested for allegedly duping the students by conducting fake interview for "confirming the seats in Nursing Courses under government quota" and seized fake documents, fake letters and the seals.

Police said that Tulsidas, who had also served as Wenlock Hospital Superintendent and his associate Thejas had sent letters to all the students of Prince Guidelines College, here and Nightingale College of Nursing, Chikmagalore asking them to appear for an interview on August Five to get their seats confirmed under government quota for Nursing Course. Of the 800 students called for the interview, 150 students had come from different parts of Karnataka for the interview.

The duo had stated to have informed the students appearing in the interview that the total cost including donation for the three year course was Rs 1,50,000 and each student should pay Rs 5000 as advance for confirming their seats. The students who got suspicion on verifying that the Nursing College was not situated in Mangalore but was Nightingale College of Nursing, Chikmagalore, started arguing with the interviewers and informed the police.

However, three of the five interviewers, one from Mangalore and two from Chikmagalore, escaped during the arguments.

Based on the complaint lodged by one of the student, the police have arrested the duo.

Meanwhile, the Superintendent of government Wenlock Hospital had clarified that the hospital had no connection with the interview called yesterday. The police are investigating the case.
