S'pore Airlines jets clip wings before take-off
Singapore, Aug 6: Two Singapore Airlines jets clipped each others' wings while taxiing at Singapore's airport before take-off on Saturday morning. None of the passengers on board were injured, the airline said today. The two Boeing-777 jets came into contact at low speed at Changi Airport, said a spokesman for Singapore Airlines, the world's biggest airline by stock market value.
''Investigations are underway into the cause, and the pilots of both flights are assisting with those investigations,'' the spokesman said in an email.
The planes, which were headed for Rome and Copenhagen, suffered minor damage, the spokesman said. The 420 passengers on board were transferred to other planes, and their flights were delayed by about three hours.
