Bangalore, Aug 6 (UNI) The State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a massive internal communication exercise ''parivartan'' to energise its employees to face stiff competition in the global banking industry.

SBI Karnataka circle Chief General Manager Mahpara Ali told newspersons that a multi-level training programme, rolled out nationally across all circles last month, would be completed in 100 days.

''The bank has realised that its best assets were employees and it has now chosen to invest in this massive HR initiative,'' she said.

The programme was about sensitising each employee about the bank's transformation and energising them with focus on Customer Service, she said adding that it was the first ever such initiative taken up by any commercial organisation in the country.

In Bangalore circle, covering the geographical area of Karnataka, the workshops would initially being conducted at the learning centres at Bangalore and Dharwad, she said.

The programme would cover a total of 5,579 employees and administration offices in the state and about 1.38 lakh employees nation-wide in the 100 days to realise the common goal of the bank, Ms Ali added.
