Rally condemns 'attack' on minority institutions

Bangalore, Aug 6 (UNI) Various Christian denominations took out a rally to protest against the 'unprovoked attacks' by communal elements on their educational institutions on the alleged trumped up charges of conversion at Shimoga today.

A statement from the Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations said the rally was taken to the Deputy Commissioner's office, to condemn the ''communal elements'' for creating disturbances in the education institutions belonging to minorities in the town.

Later, a memorandum listing communal activities targeting minority institutions was submitted to Deputy Commissioner Anil Kumar, the statement added.
