Gunny bag containing foetuses found in garbage bin

Bangalore, Aug 6: A sack allegedly containing foetuses was recovered from a garbage dump in the city.

Commissioner of Police Neelam Achutha Rao told sources today that about five to six foetuses of both male and female were found in the gunny bag. These were sent to laboratory for analysis.

He said a case had been registered and investigation was on to find out who dumped the foetuses in the garbage.

&34;The presence of a gunny bag containing foetuses in the garbage near the Rajiv Gandhi statue in Seshadripuram extension came to light last evening when stray dogs were rummaging the dustbin looking for food. Besides foetuses, syringe, bandage, cotton and other bio-medical waste were also found in the bag,&34; he added.

Karnataka State Women's Commission President Pramila Nesargi visited the spot.
