Deep depression likely to cross North Orissa coast

Visakhapatnam, Aug 6: Yesterday's depression over Bay of Bengal, which lay centred over North West part of the Bay of Bengal at about 100 km South East of Chandbali in Orissa, is likely to intensify further and move in a West North-Westerly direction and cross North Orissa coast betweeen Paradeep and Balasore by this afternoon.

The Cylone Warning Centre Spokesman said that under its influence, rain or thundershowers were likely at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

Isolated heavy rain or thundershowers were also likely over North coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period.

Strong surface winds with speed reaching 45 to 50 kmph from the south westerly direction were likely along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

Distant cautionary signal no.1 was hoisted at Visakhapatnam port and section signal no.1 at Kakinada port.
