Trickster relieves gold chain from women patient

Chennai, Aug 5 (UNI) An impostor posing as a ward boy in a private hospital relieved a gold chain from a woman patient here yesterday.

According to police, Geetha of Virugambakkam was admitted to the hospital. When her husband went out to get the prescribed medicines, a man introducing himself as a ward boy asked her to come to the scanning room.

He asked her to remove the gold chain and hand it over to him as wearing of jewels were not allowed during scanning.

When Geetha inquired with the doctor about the scanning which was to be perfomed, the doctor said he had not asked for scanning. The woman then realised that she was duped by a trickster.

The couple lodged a complaint with the Valasaravakkam police, who were on the look out for the imposter.
