Three arrested to rob workers

Chennai, Aug 5 (UNI) Police arrested three persons while attempting to rob two people at suburban Thorapakkam last night.

Police said Chandraraj of Bihar and Preethi Jain from Rajasthan, both working near Thiruvanmiyur Railway Station and residing in Kottiwakkam Jayendra Colony, were returning home from work when the trio under the influence of liquor, waylaid and relieved them of cash, jewels and cellphones.

The three attacked the workers with wooden logs and inflicted blade injuries.

The night patrol policemen, who came that way caught hold of them after a chase.

The arrested were identified as Rajesh from MGR Nagar Taramani, Karthick of Kannagi Nagar and Prabhu from Perungudi Kallukuttai, police said.
