Ten drown as boat capsizes in Ulhas river

Alibaug, Aug 5 (UNI) Nine women and a boatman drowned today after their boat capsized in Ulhas river at Kolivali in Karjat tehsil of Raigad district of Maharashtra.

The women were returning to Pimpoli village after their weekly prayer meet when the accident occurred, police said.

Eleven people were aboard the boat. Of these, nine were women and two boatmen.

Bodies of two women have been fished out, police said adding one of the boatmen managed to swim ashore.
