Temperature soars in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Despite coolness in the air after light showers in some parts of Delhi, the mercury today soared to 34.6 degrees celsius, a degree above normal.

The weather office reported 3.7 mm rainfall till 1730 hrs even as the minimum rose to 26.4 degrees Celsius from yesterday's 25.4 degrees Celsius.

For Delhiites, the weather over the weekend was pleasant, a welcome relief from humid and muggy conditions.

Predicting a generally cloudy sky with few spells of rainfall or thunderstorm, the weatherman said nevertheless a couple of 'heavy spells' in some parts of Delhi could not be ruled out.

The Weather office has also forecast further rise in the temperature over the next 24 hours.
