Rajnath asks partymen to set up committees in every booth

Puri, Aug 5 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Rajnath Singh today asked the party functionaries and leaders to go to booths and ensure formation of committees in every pooling booths.

Mr Singh advised the party office bearers to make positive response to every application or petition handed over to them. He was addressing the concluding session of the 3-day state executive body meeting here.

The BJP chief advised the state leaders to resolve all issues of dissension with the coalition partners that has cropped up during functioning of the government.

In a damage control exercise after the BJP vice-president Jual Oram launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik demanding his resignation over handing over POSCO project, Mr Singh issued a veiled warning to the state BJP leaders not to go public.

He said such issues could be resolved by dialogue with the coalition partners. Stating that the BJP is a party with difference than others, Mr Singh flayed the UPA government for the 123 agreement with the United States and withdrawal of troops from Jammu and Kashmir to appease political leadership.

The BJP president too criticized the UPA government for dumping the POTA Act which was an effective tool to curb terrorists.

Party General Secretary Vinay Katiyar, also in-charge of Orissa affairs said, " we have to race against time to complete booth committees and to conduct the district unit elections as early as possible. State BJP president Suresh Pujary and the Puri district unit president Baidhar Mullick spoke on the occasion.

All the BJP ministers in the state, BJP Parliament and state legislative assembly members had attended the meeting. Mr Singh during his stay, went to Sri Jagannath temple to offer prayers.
