One killed, two arrested of a gang

Barabanki, Aug 5 (UNI) A Special Operation Group (SOG) of police killed a hardcore criminal in an encounter and arrested two of his accomplice at Kursi area here today.

On a tip-off, police reached Kursi area, where the gang members had planned to loot a bus.

When the police asked them to surrender they started firing on them. In the retaliatory firing one Deshraj was killed and two were arrested, while others managed to escape.

Police have recovered few mobile phones and other items from them.

A search is on to nab the absconders, police said.
