Light spells in Kolkata, heavy spells in next 24 hours

Kolkata, Aug 5 (UNI) Kolkata today experienced a few spells of rainfall bringing in relief to the people from the sweltering heat.

Alipur Met department recorded the maximum temperature of 33.7 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 27.0 degrees Celsius.

Maximum humidity was pegged at 92 per cent while the minimum was recorded at 61 per cent.

Acoording to local weather office, rainfall stood at 8.8 mm.

Met office predicted generally cloudy sky with few spells of rain or thunder showers during next 24 hours, in which one or two spells may be heavy.
