Hyderabad, Aug 5 (UNI) The Congress Legislature Party(CLP) today alleged that the land agitation by the Left parties was hindering developmental activities and creating law and order problems in the state.

Government Chief Whip N Kirankumkar Reddy and his two deputies S Udaya Bhanu and D Sridhar Babu, in a statement here said the intention of the Left parties, especially the CPI(M) had been exposed by the recent incident of police firing in Mudigonda in Khammam district in which seven people were killed.

Stating that Left parties were creating anarchy in the name of land agitation and misleadng innocent people, they said though the Mudigonda incident was unfortunate, it was a 'pre-planned' attempt to instigate the police.

They said the recent statements by Left party leaders indicated that their land agitation was for ousting of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and not for the welfare of the poor.

There was no meaning in their agitation as the government had started construction of houses on a large scale for the poor and agreed to implement the Koneru Ranga Rao Committee report.

The CPI(M) leaders, who did not condemn the police firing in Singur and Nandigram in West Bengal, were demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister, who responded immediatley after the incident and ordered a judicial inquiry besides announcing higher compensation.

It was unbecoming on the part of the Left parties to instigate people for their political existence, they said adding that instead of creating law and order problems, the Left could play a constructive role by giving good suggestions to the government to solve the peoples' problem.
