Heavy rains likely in MP
Bhopal, Aug 5 (UNI) With monsoonal activity gaining momentum in Madhya Pradesh, heavy rains continued in western part of the state.
Regional Meteorological Department's spokesperson said heavy rains were likely in the whole state in the next two days courtesy a low-pressure area being developed over Bay of Bengal along Orissa's south-western coast.
Showers accompanied by lightning was predicted at several places in the next 24 hours.
Dhar received 11 cm rainfall overnight followed by Sausar (8 cm), Bhanpura (6), Mahidpur (5), Neemuch (4), Mandsaur (4), Jawad (4) and Jhabua (4).
The state capital witnessed clouds this morning. However, bright sun came out during afternoon. Light rainfall occurred at isolated places.
So far, the state capital has received 559 mm rainfall, 37 mm more than normal.
