Four people drown in Girna river

Nashik, Aug 5 (UNI) Four people including a woman and her three children drowned in Girna river in Deola taluka of the district today.

According to sources in the district administration, the four deceased -- Sunita Tukaram Ahire (34), her sons Bhushan (11), Roshan (9) and Abha (6), all residents of Mahalpatne village of Deola taluka -- were on their way home after completing work in the field.

They were crossing the river basin when a sudden gush of water flowed them away.

The deceased's husband and father Tukaram Ahire (38) was saved by the villagers.

Meanwhile, incessant rains have been lashing the city and its adjoining areas today.
