District Cong Sewa Dal unit joins SAD in Punjab
Moga, Aug 5 (UNI) The Punjab Congress suffered a major jolt when all office bearers and executive members and some workers of the Moga District Sewa Dal quit the party and joined the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
They announced their decision to join the SAD in presence of SAD Youth Wing senior vice president Baljinder Singh Brar at a function here today.
Amongst those who joined the SAD was Subhash Galhoti, who was president of the district Sewa Dal unit. In all 56 Sewa Dal leaders, including 32 office bearers, 11 executive members and 13 workers, joined the SAD.
They said that they were feeling ''suffocated'' in the Congress party, and praised the pro people policies adopted by the Badal government.
