Criminals using scientific methods J

Srinagar, Aug 5 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Director General of police Kuldeep Khoda has asked the police force to remain prepared to meet the challenge of the criminals using scientific methods to carry out their nefarious activities.

The state police chief said people in Jammu and Kashmir are fed-up with militancy and advised the misguided youth to shun the path of violence and join the mainstream.

He said, all possible help will be extended to them for their rehabilitation.

At present, criminals were using scientific methods for nefarious activities and the police should also adapt itself to meet the challenges, Mr Khoda said.

He said technical training was being imparted to the officers and jawans for this purpose.

Appreciating the role of police on various fronts, Mr Kuldeep Khoda stressed for people-friendly policing to win confidence of the masses.

He said police while tackling militancy and dealing with anti-social elements should ensure that human rights are not violated.

Mr Khoda said the responsibility of police in Jammu and Kashmir has increased and this has put greater work load on its all ranks.

He said functionaries in police stations and police posts should listen to complaints of people and put efforts for their effective redressal.

The police chief exhorted for proper documentation and record building in the police stations and posts.

He said measures have been taken to meet the requirements of accommodation for the officers, jawans and their families.

He asked the police functionaries to hold public darbars in their respective districts to interact with people to address their genuine problems.

Such interactions, he said, help in promoting better police- public relations.
