CPI demands release of arrested workers
Hyderabad, Aug 5 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretary K Narayana today demanded that the Andhra Pradesh Government release the CPI workers, arrested at Chintapalli in Visakhapatnam district recently.
In a press release here, Mr Narayana alleged the police had foisted cases against the CPI activists, who took part in the land struggle in the state.
As many as 40 CPI workers, who were arrested at Chintapalli were lodged in jail, he added.
Condemning the police for questioning the CPI leaders and other left party leaders, suspecting their links with naxals, Mr Narayana said the police were arresting Left activists without any reason.
