Awareness among muslims increasing fast : Sahay

Jamshedpur, Aug 5 (UNI) Awareness to rights among the muslims has increased rapidly during the past few decades, according to Union minister of state for food processing and Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay.

Addressing a seminar on ''Backwardness of Muslims-Reasons and Solutions'' organised by the 'Muslim Adhikar Morcha' here last night, Mr Sahay said the Centre had introduced a number of policies for the uplift of the community and the Sachar committee report were the part of this effort.

He opined that the community would definitely get benefit from the action taken on the basis of the Sachar committee report but the muslims should get ready for their rights instead of lodging complaints.

The minister also suggested that the Madrasas should join with the open universities and other educational institutions.

Several muslim intellectuals and journalists were also honoured by the Manch.
