Jammu, Aug 5 (UNI) The Ugandan Army veteran, arrested from the vicinity of the Army Cantonment here, was sent to the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) of the police today, a senior official said.

The African national, who identified himself as Rashid Hassan, a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Uganda army, was shifted to the JIC for questioning, South Jammu SP Zahid Manhas told UNI.

''Subsequent to the JIC report, cases will be framed against the foreign national,'' he said.

The Ugandan army officer was arrested under suspicious circumstances near the high-security cantonment here at Satwari on Friday.

Lt Col Hassan, who was caught wearing safari suit and round white cap, disclosed that he had taken exile after his father was executed by the Uganda government, sources at preliminary questioning had said.

The foreigner was not carrying any valid documents to prove his identity to the army personnel on duty who had apprehended him near the Cantonment.
