2 engineers die after falling in gutter

Gangtok, Aug 5 (UNI) Two Junior Engineers(JE) of the State Rural Development Department died whey they fell into a gutter in front of a local hotel here early this morning.

Jiwan Gurung died on the spot while Bikash Pradhan died later at a local hospital, police informed here.

''Jiwan Gurung(40) and Bikash Pradhan(35), were in a drunken state when they fell into a deep narrow gutter beside the road in front of the hotel,'' police added.

Police have registered a case of unnatural death.

The deceased JEs had organised a farewell party last night at the hotel for the retiring employees of the department.
