Two women nabbed for foeticide in Haryana
Panipat, Aug 4 (UNI) Two women, one of them a quack, were nabbed in connection with recovery of a lump of flesh suspected to be a foetus from a drain in Azad Nagar Friday evening, police today said.
The piece of flesh has been sent to Madhuban Laboratory and a case under section 312 and 313 of IPC, section 2,3,4 of MPP act and section 15 (2) and 15 (3) of Indian Medical Council Act has been registered against Gayatri Devi and Dhanpati of Kuldeep Nagar, who have reportedly confessed to having committed the crime police said.
According to information, some people who saw a woman throwing something wrapped in a black polythene in the drain yesterday alerted the police.
Police and a team of four Doctors reached on the spot and recovered the polythene, which contained a lump of flesh. After preliminary testing, it was sent to FSL, Madhuban for testing.
Meanwhile, police investigation zeroed on Gayatri and Dhanpati, a mother of five children and took them in custody late last night for investigation.
The police sources confirmed that the women have confessed their involvement in this case of illegal termination of pregnancy.
