Two unidentified men rob truck in Kheda

Nadiad, Aug 4 (UNI) Two unidentified persons, who had asked for a lift from a truck driver, have allegedly looted goods worth Rs 73,000 from the truck near Mahuda in the Kheda district.

The truck was on the way to Godhra from Ahmedabad last night. At Nenpur chowki, the duo asked the truck driver, Bagu Chaggan Vasawa, for a lift, who obliged. As the truck reached near Mahuda, Vasawa and his cleaner stopped the vehicle at a roadside restaurant for dinner at around 2230 hrs, while the two men stayed back in the truck, police said today.

After finishing his meal, Vasawa came and noticed that the duo had disappeared. On suspicion, he checked the truck and found that goods worth Rs 73,000 which included 5 cartons of gutkha worth Rs 41,000, 13 cartons of oil worth Rs 24,000, 4 cartons of medicines worth Rs 8,000 were missing. He then lodged a complaint with the Mahuda police, they added.
