Tripura court issues warrant against non-banking financial inst

Agartala, Aug 4 (UNI) The West Tripura District Court here today issued a warrant against nine officials of a non-banking financial institution, following complaints of the beneficiaries.

Police said the court had asked the West Tripura Superintendent of Police to arrest the officials of a chain marketing concern - Progressive Marketing Plane - which allegedly swindled Rs 25 lakh from different areas of the city.

The Tripura government had issued a general alert to the people yesterday, asking them not to deposit any amount to anyone from the non-banking financial institutions.

The officials of the Institutional Finance had revealed that as many as five non-banking financial institutions, who were luring people by exorbitant returns in comparatively less period of time, had come under the government scanner.
