Serial killer nabbed in Bangalore city
Bangalore, Aug 3 (UNI) The city police have arrested a psychopathic serial killer who allegedly murdered four people during the last two years by bludgeoning them with bounders while they slept in public parks on full moon nights.
Speaking to newspersons here City Police Commisioner N Achyuta Rao said the arrested, identified as Girish Babu (25) was a drug addict and an alcoholic and was thrown out of his job in a printing press two years ago.
"This serial killer is a drug addict and an alcoholic. He used to watch horror movies and WWF programme on the television every day and get provoked to commit such offenses. He used to attack lonely persons in the night and rob them of small amount of cash in their possession," Mr Rao said.
DCP (East) K V Sharat Chandra, who led the investigations said that the killed were very poor people without a shelter. The amount he robbed ranged from Rs 20 to Rs 250 and this was used to buy drugs and liquor, he said.
"Girish is psychopathic and a vagabond rejected by his parents. A very strong person he was doing physical exercises daily. He used to hog at one time the food that three people could eat. He had committed murders within half a km radius of his house in Potters' Colony. He had killed two persons each last year and this year," he added.
The arrested has been remanded to police custody.
