SDM suspended on rape charges

Panna, MP, Aug 4 (UNI) Gunaur Sub-Divisional Magistrate S N Tiwari was today suspended for allegedly calling a 17-year-old girl at his home for providing caste and domicile certificates and raping her.

Collector Deepak Rastogi said the Sagar Divisional Commissioner has suspended the SDM.

Panna SDM Sanjay Jain had been given additional charge as Gunaur SDM.

On the basis of the victim's complaint, a case was registered against Mr Tiwari yesterday. The matter was under investigation.

A demonstration and road blockade led by District Congress Committee President Jai Prakash Patel was carried out in front of Gunaur tahsil headquarter in protest of the incident.
