Rs 10 lakh worth golden armour offered to Lord
Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, Aug 4 (UNI) A devotee offered Rs ten lakh worth gold armour, weighing one kg, to the deity of Vizhakkozhi Perumal at the Vedanta Desikar temple here today.
Devotee Srinivasa Iyengar, hailing from Mamandur, near here, presented the golden armour. It was given shape by a team, headed by Selvam Sthapathi of Panruti, in two months. The armour, measuring 3.5 ft in height, was embossed with the picture of a lion, being flanked by two swan and two watchmen.
The deity was adorned with the armour after offering prayers and taken in a procession in the temple town.
