Rebel Congress Councillor attacked in Patiala

Patiala, Aug 4 (UNI) Krishan Kumar 'Budhu', a sitting councillor seeking re-election as rebel Congress nominee from ward no 36 in the coming Corporation polls, was allegedly attacked by five people here today.

Mr Budhu, in his complaint to Patiala Kotwali police station alleged that a man named as 'Tina' along with his four associates attacked him with irons rods and sharp edge weapon near anardana Chowk.

Budhu was contesting as rebel candidate after he was denied party ticket against the outgoing Mayor Vishnu Sharma, a Congress nominee.

Budhu has alleged that Vishnu Shrama had masterminded the attack as he had foresee his defeat.
