Rajnath criticises W B government on land issue

Kolkata, Aug 4 (UNI) BJP president Rajnath Singh today lambasted the ruling Left Front government in the state for its ''failure'' in resolving Nandigram issue.

'' People of Nandigram are justified in continuing their agitation on their land issue because the state government had failed to take any steps against those responsible for the police firing, killing 14 people on March 14,'' Mr Singh told reporters at NSCBI airport here today.

During a stop-over on his way to Bhubaneswar from Dimapur, Mr Singh said, people of Nandigram had every right to continue their agitation for their home and land as the government had failed to address their grievances.

'' The BJP thinks that it is their moral duty to stand by the villagers and that it will be wrong to differentiate between the Nandigram agitation of villagers protesting against losing their lands and those at Khamam in Andhre Pradesh, who were demanding land,'' he remarked.
