Dimapur, Aug 4 (UNI) BJP national president Rajnath Singh today claimed that the party will form the next government after the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Singh said the BJP was in a very comfortable position now. He said people of the country have lost their faith in the Congress and are now turning to the BJP.

He also claimed that the popularity of the BJP was increasing more than that of the NDA and even though the UPA government held the sway at the Centre, the BJP will get an unprecedented response from the people of Nagaland.

Mr Singh expressed confidence that the BJP would play a major role in Nagaland after 2008 state Assembly election.

Mr Singh welcomed the indefinite extension of cease-fire between the Centre and the NSCN-IM and said all factions of the underground organisation should be taken into confidence.

He also appealed to all parties concerned to take initiative to bring peace process to a permanent acceptable settlement.

He asked the UPA government to follow the path of Atal Behari Vajpayee for all-round development of the state.

He further cautioned the people about the illegal migrants, which would destabilize the pattern of the state. But assured that the next time his party comes to power, it would redress the issue.
