Rajasthan witnesses good rain spell
Jaipur, Aug 4 (UNI) Rajasthan has been recording good monsoon this year with intermittent rains continuing to lash various parts of the state in the last 24 hours.
The sky is overcast in most parts of the state with good rainfall in Kota and Udaipur divisions and Alwar district. Most rivers in these divisions and districts are overflowing.
Jhalawar district's Gangadhar recorded 90 mm, Kota's Sawan Bhadon dam region mapped 85 mm, Udaipur's Jaisamand 75 mm rainfall.
At least 85 big dams are filled to the brim while 160 big water bodies are more than half-filled. According to meteorological and irrigation department, Udaipur's Mavli and Dungarpur's Kushalgarh and Galiyakot recorded 62 mm, Jaipur district's Pawta, Bharatpur's Kama, jhalawar's Dug , manoharthana, Banswara's Sagwara, Churu's Ratangarh and Sujangarh and Pali 55 mm and Kota's Darra 50 mm rain fall.
Hanumangarh's Pilibanga, Banswara Peepalkhunt,Bagidora, Sajjangarh, Bharatpur's Pahadi 40, Chittor 55 and other places recorded 20 to 30 mm rainfall.
The state capital also witnessed scattered rains with city's Bani Park area experiencing heavy rainfall.
The weather department has predicted good rainfall with thunder and lightening at many places in the state.
