Prosecute Nitish for criminal negligence on flood:Rahguvansh

Hajipur, Aug 4 (UNI) Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh today demanded that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar be prosecuted under the National Disaster Management Act for his alleged criminal negligence in taking flood control measures.

Mr Singh told reporters here that Patna High Court should take the cognizance against the criminal negligence of Mr Kumar in stepping up the rescue and relief operation as he was also the Chairman of state Disaster Management Committee.

'' Mr Kumar lacks the will power to handle the grim flood situation and millions of people are left at the mercy of God with no rescue and relief work in sight, '' he alleged.

'' The Centre is prepared to extend all sort of assistance to the state government in this hour of catastrophe but the Nitish Kumar government is not taking initiative in this regard, '' Mr Singh lamented.
