People remember Dr Y S Parmar on his 101st birthday

Shimla, Aug 4 (UNI) The people of Himachal Pradesh today remembered the State's first Chief Minister Yashwant Singh Parmar on his 101st birthday.

State Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh led the people of the state in offering floral tributes at his statue at the historic Ridge Maidan here.

The Chief Minister was followed by his cabinet colleagues, legislators, former members, freedom fighters, mayor and councilors senior officers and people from all walks of life.

Addressing the people on the occasion, he said Parmar was a visionary, far sighted and dynamic leader who had dedicated his entire life for making Himachal the most progressive and developed state of the country.

He said the people of the state would remain indebted to him for generations to come for his efforts to make it a separate state.
