Non-bailable warrant issued for Ashok Malhotra

New Delhi, Aug 4 (UNI) A CBI court today issued a non-bailable warrant returnable by August 14 for land scam accused Ashok Malhotra.

Additional Sessions Judge S K Malhotra issued the warrant for Malhotra, who has been evading arrest.

Malhotra had failed to turn up at the CBI office, for a second consecutive day yesterday, for interrogation in connection with the over 5,000 plot land allotment scandal said to involve several political bigwigs.

The CBI had summoned Malhotra after inspection of thousands of documents seized from his residence indicating his involvement in in other scams, besides the Dhirpur land case.

According to the CBI officials, Malhotra's 'non-appearance' is a snub for the investigative agency.

More than 50 luxury cars were seized, along with papers pertaining to DDA land allotment to the poorer sections of society, from the premises of the accused in raids by the CBI on Wednesday and Thursday.
