Kozhikode, Aug 4 (UNI) The pro-Muslim National Development Front (NDF) in Kerala will take out marches to the Secretariat and collectorates throughout the state on August 22, demanding immediate release of ''innocent'' people jailed in connection with the Marad violence that claimed nine lives four years ago.

Talking to newspersons here today, NDF President T Abdurehman and Secretary S Manmmotty said the decision was taken by the recent state executive council meeting of the organisation.

Stating that 139 people were languishing in jail, they said the NDF was of the opinion that majority of them were innocents, who were nabbed on mere suspicion.

Some of the accused were suffering from chronic diseases as well, making their life in prison miserable, they said.

The organisation also demanded bail for the undertrials and speedy completion of trial in the case.
