NBW on Delhi-based contractor Ashok Malhotra
New Delhi, Aug 4: After getting a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) issued against Delhi-based contractor Ashok Malhotra who is wanted in a multi-crore land scam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sent its sleuths all across the country for his arrest.
Special Judge S K Kaushik also directed the CBI to produce Malhotra before the court on or before August 14.
Despite being summoned by the agency to appear before it, Malhotra, whose residences were raided by the CBI on July 27 and August 2, is evading from being questioned
There are allegations that Malhotra in connivance with five DDA officials fraudulently acquired plots in Dhirpur area that were meant for resettlement of slum dwellers during 2000-02.
According to sources, a CBI team was examining documents recovered during raids at Malhotras residential premises in Mukherjee Nagar and other places.
After a raid at his residence it was found that Malhotra was having possession of 17 luxury cars with VIP number plates, Rs 17 lakh cash and about seven kg of gold.
