Morning spells fail to bring relief to Kolkatans

Kolkata, Aug 04 (UNI) Despite a few spells of rain early in the morning, the mercury today shot up causing sweltering heat in the city.

Met office recorded maximum temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 28.0 degrees Celsius.

Maximum relative humidity was at 92 per cent while the minimum was 61 per cent.

Met office predicts generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunder showers in and around the city during the next 24 hours.
